The weather proof binaural microphone (not stereo, please use headphones at about 50% volume) is located in an urban garden in Aughton, west Lancashire
|
The binaural microphone has been running for several years, 24 hours a day, unless down for maintenance and upgrades. With abundant wildlife during the day light hours you may hear some quiet bird talk, or piercing bird song! if the birds are a little too close to the mic, great fun if they sing on top of the microphone.
The dawn chorus heard hear is mind boggling, with so many Blackbirds, Thrushes, sparrows (yes, hedge sparrows), mistle thrushes, dunark's, wrens, and many many others. The microphone sits under a tree so that when wildlife is in there, it can be quite an intimate encounter. What birds can you hear? There are plenty of night time visitors too, Owl's, foxes, hedgehogs, cats fighting, dog's barking, and the occasional aircraft coming out of supersonic speeds as they enter the North West Coast... You may hear me if you return at other times, doing gardening, or trying to scare the bloody Magpies away. |
