The mission of Watershed Art & Ecology is to create openings for discussions of the current human predicaments: societal, environmental, economic, and racial. Defining both art and ecology beyond standard expectations, we present programs and exhibits that address our relations with each other and with the natural environment. Through biocultural experiences of place – “watersheds” – we seek emergent ecological knowledge. This event takes place on the traditional homelands of the Anishinaabe, or the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations. Many other Nations consider this area their traditional homeland, including the Myaamia, Ho-Chunk, Menominee, Sac and Fox, and Peoria. |
