REVEIL 2024 STREAMS

Live stream: london_a_slice_of_reality.mp3

A Slice of Reality, Greenwich peninsula, River Thames,

Blanc Sceol (Stephen Shiell & Hannah White)

Latitude: +51.504156°
Longitude: -0.000282°

Located by Blanc Sceol on Richard Wilson's sculpture 'A Slice of Reality'- a sliced vertical section of an ocean going sand dredger that stands on the foreshore of the Thames. Sounds of bird,  boat and land life on the river and it's shores, the everyday activity of the North Greenwich peninsula.

Originally conceived of as a captured moment of lost industry to mark the turning of a millennium, the realities the ship witnesses are now very different - the high octane leisure industries of the dome and the docks, the global finance district at Canary Wharf.

The sliced ship remains open to interpretation and weathering, tides continue to rise and fall and River Thames flows to and fro about her exposed belly.

This live stream is a continuation of Blanc Sceol's work further upstream on Channelsea river.
