Tequesta Indian Mound
Fereshteh Toosi lives and works in Miami, Florida on stolen lands still stewarded by the Miccosukee and Seminole people, and previously by the Calusa and Tequesta tribal bands.
My streaming partner Neil Brideau and I will begin broadcasting during our walk to the mound, livestreaming from approximately 6:00 to 6:30 UTC-4.
This sacred burial mound near Sherwood Forest Park and the Little River was the first archaeological site to receive historic designation in Miami-Dade County. Its history dates to the year 600, when ancient Tequesta Indians lived in the area.
