Bankura is a district in the west of West Bengal. This place is called Sirjan, a Santhali word which means creation. This farm is about 260 km away from Kolkata. West side of West Bengal meets the Chootonagpur Plateau which covers Jharkhand and Bihar. The land here is very dry and it gets extremely hot is summer. Temperature goes up to 45 degree Celsius and sometimes a bit more than that. The tress inside the farm are mostly planted. Simul (silk cotton tree), Palash and Palm trees are very common here. Spotted doves, Indian Myna, Crows are mostly seen. But there are lots of other varieties of birds live around the farm. And you hear quite a lot of cricket during the mid-day and in the night.
