The area is along the trail called "Via degli Dei" from Bologna to Florence with lots of people hiking for a week through the Apennines. It is an historical and non-religious itinerary where Etruscans and Romans traveled to develop their trades. 

The village, Fiesole, which is not far, is part of the Florentine hills of Etruscan foundation. The spot I chose is at the intersection of two country roads surrounded by woods and conifers with birds such as woodpecker, cuckoo, nightingale and small predatory coming by. Expect also sporadic walkers and cyclists.
