Leisler's bat roost located in a historic parkland of a historic house.
Starting at dusk 8:30pm BST until 9:30pm BST listen to a live stream of the bats from inside their bat box. Their audible roost chatter recorded on a sensitive microphone located close to the box entrance. As they emerge from their roost which is located in a copse of trees we switch to a bat detector to hear the calls as they emerge and head out into the medieval parkland to forage. A pre-maternity roost of Leisler's bats Nyctalus leisleri where female bats getting ready to give birth gather before moving to the main roost to give birth. The bats roost in a large bat box located in a copse of oak trees in a corner of ancient parkland associated with a historic house now owned by the National Trust.Microphones located close to the box entrance to detect the audible sound of roost 36kHz.
