The Place: A contribution for Reveil 2020 streaming live during sunset the soundscape of the city of Keratsini, which is situated on the Saronic Gulf coast, northwest of Piraeus and about 10 kilometres west of Athens city centre. The coastal area consists mainly of cargo port facilities, factories and shipyards. The city is known as to have been one of the poorest regions of Athens, mainly inhabited by refugees during the 20th Century.

The Streamer: Luc Messinezis is a professional artist and researcher working across sound, installation and performance. His practice explores aural awareness, perception, anthropology, notions of authenticity and reality. He has presented several of his artworks in venues across the globe and currently scrutinizes ‘aural simulacra’.
