I am deeply honored to bring you the sounds of my garden waking up on Dawn Chorus Day, for the fifth year in a row! Listen, as dawn breaks in my suburban garden in southwestern Arizona.  Please follow me on socials at @Saunieindiego.
Below are some of the birds I have heard since I moved here last summer. You may hear these, along with highway noise, local military aircraft, and a nearby railroad track. Sounds of my suburban neighborhood may also be heard, including passing cars or human voices in the distance. There also is an international airport a few miles away with sporadic air traffic.

American Coot, American Kestrel, Anna's Hummingbird, Black-tailed Gnatcatcher, Blackbird, Caspian Tern, Costa's Hummingbird, Eurasian Collared Dove, European Starling, Gambel's Quail, Gila Woodpecker, Great-horned Owl, Great-tailed Grackle, Hermit Thrush, Hooded Oriole, House Finch, House Sparrow, Inca Dove, Kildeer, Lesser Goldfinch, Long-billed Curlew, Mourning Dove, Northern Cardinal, Northern Mockingbird, Orange-crowned Warbler, Phoebe, Verdin, White-crowned Sparrow, Wrentit, and Yellow-rumped Warbler.

And wind. You may hear wind. It is often windy here in the desert southwest. The leaves on the trees in my yard may be rustling. You may also hear my mother's deaf dog who came to live with me after she passed away in February.  You may hear the pitter-patter of tiny dog feet across the patio, or maybe even a whine or bark. You may also hear the buzzing of insects.
