Huk is among one of the most popular beaches in Oslo. On warm summer days the area are packed of sun bading teenagers and happy families. It's located on Bygdøy, a residential area located on the west side of the city, surrounded by the Oslo fjord. It's a popular outdoor area for hiking, fishing, running, biking, foraging etc. It also host a naturist beach, the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History, the Kon Tiki Museum and Bygdøy Royal Farm.

The area consist of private properties, farmland and forests which makes it a hot spot for a various range of birds species and urban wildlife. This is the second year I visit this spot.
For Dawn Chorus Day 2025 a group of artists from the ‘Reality-based Audio Workshop’ group will join with streams from locations in various parts of Norway, from the Netherlands and California.

‘Reality-based Audio Workshop’ is a meeting of artists from Norway and internationally, attempting to re-think the relationship between sound and reality in our time. The artists all use field recording of audio as a core of their artistic activities, and approach a chosen site with various advanced or experimental recording technologies. The recordings are then improvised and mixed collaboratively into a sound work. Thematic focus has so far been centered around various forms of energy and their land use, both historical and future ones. The project was initiated by BEK, Bergen Centre for Electronic Arts in collaboration with Ernst Karel from the Harvard Sensory Ethnography Lab.

Participating artists in 2025: Siri Austeen, Espen Sommer Eide, Yngvild Færøy, Jiska Huizing, Ernst Karel, Signe Lidén and Alexander Rishaug.
