The ElisaBeet is a special urban garden: a vegetable garden and a place for education and recreation on a part of the St. Elisabeth II cemetery in the middle of the city. 

The garden gives people from all ages from the neighbourhood the opportunity to learn by doing, to get in touch with their neighbours and to implement their own projects. 

Due to changes in burial culture, empty spaces in Berlin's cemeteries are becoming places of transformation. Their functions are being expanded or rediscovered, including as places of green education and biodiversity conservation. Since July 2020, thanks to the help of many hardworking hands, the vegetable patch, the heart of the ElisaBeet, has been created. Every Friday during the season, from spring to the beginning of winter, there is an open meeting with a high level of participation from the neighbourhood.
