This site is on ecological plots at Stanmer Organics in Stanmer Park, Brighton. It is surrounded by community, sustainable agricultural plots, bordering a larger farm with horses and sheep and the distant traffic of the A27. Birdsong is prevalent here. Potential species include Song Thrushes, Chaffinches, and Nuthatches.
Stanmer Organics was formed in 1997 as a co-operative consortium and is based at the top of Stanmer Park on 17 acres of land which is 100% Organic, and Soil Association certified. Its primary function is to support projects that promote health, well-being, education and greener more sustainable lifestyles. Sound Art Brighton has worked in collaboration with Stanmer Organics, organizing sound art events throughout the years, such as the 2022 and 2024 Sound Plotting Festival and Listen Al Fresco in conjunction with the Ecomusicology Project.
