Streaming off-grid from an wooded land, using a Soundcamp streambox. The location is in a rural valley surrounded by granite mountains, part of the Gerês-Xures Biosphere Reserve. With a combination of wildlife and rural activities, environmental sounds include birds, insects, cattle, cowbells, horses, agroforestry practices, and streams of water on rainy days.
Soajo is the name of a village and the mountain where it sits in the northwest of Portugal, next to the border with Galicia. This mountain is part of the Peneda-Gerês National Park and for its natural and cultural values the area was declared a Transborder Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 27 May
2009.

This hilly landscape is far from major population centres, with a dense hydrographic network, ecosystems in a good state of conservation, fauna and flora species of exceptional interest for the conservation of biodiversity. With high rainfall, the influence of Atlantic, Mediterranean and Continental climatic features in the region allows for a diversity of microclimates responsible for an enormous diversity of species and habitats. Inherited pre- and proto-historical agricultural and pasture techniques and communitarian practices have ensured a balance between human activity and the natural environment.
