An urban back yard on a terraced row in South Liverpool, close to the railway, a playing field and a main road. There may be some bird song, traffic noises and the sound of the London bound train that passes nearby.
Wavertree is just south of Liverpool City center and Smithdown Road is quite a built up residential area and one of the main arteries out of the city. This mic is set up in our concrete back yard in the middle of a terraced row. That said, South Liverpool is blessed with lots of beautiful parks and we're also close to the Mystery, our local playing fields, and near to Greenbank and Sefton Parks.
I'm an artist working in Liverpool, recently with sound and online broadcast. I also run an ad-hoc streaming platform from inside our house - broadcasting the sounds of our activity, sometimes heavily processed, sometimes not. The stream uses a mono Behringer ECM8000 condenser mic through a Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 Audio Interface and a Rasperry Pi 3b. The mic is in a plastic box in our yard - the rest is inside.
