Stream from the balcony near the Dnipro embankment in Kyiv. Here you can hear the city birds, the sound of a tree leaning against the window, and people walking on the street. Somewhere in the distance, you can occasionally hear the hum of car engines. In the case of an air raid alert (launch of russian missiles or drones), you will hear a long siren sound.
Obolon is a district on the right bank of Kyiv. This place became my new home a month ago. There are many schools, kindergartens and a hospital around my house, and the Dnipro embankment is a 10-minute walk away. The windows of the apartment overlook a quiet courtyard where you can hardly hear the city noise. This is another place where I try to feel at home and look for coziness. Walking around Obolon and looking at the typical high-rise buildings, I constantly catch flashbacks of my native Donetsk, which I was forced to leave in 2014 due to the russian occupation.
