Chateaubelair - Saint Vincent Christine Bramwell
Latitude: +13.29069°
Chateaubelair a fishing village on the west coast of Saint Vincent, very mountainous with plenty free roaming chickens and pigs. Many stray dogs ready to fight.

The barracks of Château are situated on a hill overlooking the village ( school- churches) and the sea. Approximately two hours away from the city centre.
The name indicates a strong colonial relationship with the French, who aided in the rebellion against the British during the first Carib Wars. This rebellion was led by Joseph Chatoyer, a chief of the Garifuna people who were exiled to Belize after the wars. There is currently a movement to bring the Garifunas back home and repair the damages of colonialism. Many people have farms located in the mountains and keep their animals at home to graze freely. You can hear the Grenada Flycatcher and Lesser Antillean Tanager, as well as other tiny brown birds that I haven't identified yet. |
