Cliffe Castle is a much loved, easily accessed, urban green space on the edge of Keighley. We should hear the sounds of both birds and people coming to life at the dawn of the day. Organised by Cliffe Castle Support Group, with A Sense of Place, and Get Out More.
A Sense of Place is a sound art project that connects people to each other, nature, the built environment, their own creativity, and with a global audience, at specific times and places.

Cliffe Castle Support Group will be our hosts, along with Get Out More.

Last year we joined Reveille from Chellow Dean in Allerton, and the year prior to that we were down the hill in Bingley, but this year we've moved along the valley to Cliffe Castle, Keighley. Cliffe Castle is a much loved, easily accessed, urban green space on the edge of Keighley where we should hear the sounds of both birds and people coming to life at the dawn of the day.

We'll meet in the car park at Cliffe Castle at 4:30am and walk into the park on a tarmac path that is suitable for wheelchairs. If the weather is fair we'll head to the area above the play park where we can over look the valley and see the sun rise in the East. If it's wet there is a covered area near the cafe that we can use.

We will set up our recording and broadcasting equipment to join the Reveille stream, and  stay there until the sun has risen (5:19am) and witness the dawning of the day.

We anticipate that people will make their own creative responses to the event through drawing, writing, poetry, and so on.

Once the sun has risen we can start to disperse or stay around, maybe share some food, show each other what we have created, and so on.
