Motney Hill is a small spur of land on the shore of the tidal River Medway with a single track road used by trucks, dogwalkers, runners and bait diggers that runs from a busy road out to the sewage works & sludge treatment centre. It's a mix of wooded scrub, reed bed, marshland and seawall. The Marshes form an integral part of the Medway Estuary and Marshes SSSI, SPA and RAMSAR site. The live stream location is in the wooded scrub near a spot where a nightingale has been singing since mid April. Other birds include Wren, Blackcap, Robin, Song Thrush, House Sparrow and potentially Turtle Doves but no spottings recorded yet this year. There is a constant high pitched thrum from the sewage works.
