On the edge of this coastal town in SE QLD, Australia, sits a riverside forest with a diverse range of birds and other species. Listen to king parrots, lorikeets, kookaburras and more. I am a creative design student at the University of the Sunshine Coast, working alongside a fellow alumni, Bernice Wood. I will stream the chorus of birds here, while Bernice will stream frog songs from her account.
Stumers Creek drains water near Mount Coolum into the Pacific Ocean. Historically, part of this area was a significant Aboriginal campsite with food and other resources near the beach and reef (Kerkhove 2018). Today, it is a peaceful location to engage with the natural beauty and diverse soundscape away from the busyness of life.
