Each year we try to find a unique location to stream from in order to address diverse environments.
From May 4th-5th, a sound camp for students of the Estonian Academy of Arts will be held in the Ahja River valley near Taevaskoja. Our local audio stream will be transmitted from Streamboxes built in a collective workshop lead by Soundcamp. Our emphasis is on understanding the dawn chorus phenomenon, identifying some of the natural sounds and species and becoming familiar with the possibilities of field recording and remote streaming technology. From 1-5 May MoKS (Evelyn and John Grzinich) are joined by two members of Soundcamp (Sam Baraitser Smith and Mort Drew) for the event series Koidukoor. Koidukoor (meaning Dawn Chorus in Estonian) offers the opportunity to experience and learn about Estonia's extraordinary landscapes and habitats through sounds, at a time of year and day when the sounds of nature are particularly vivid. Koidukoor is a multi-day event featuring listening tours, a sound camp and a global live streaming of the sounds of the dawn. Koidukoor is part of the European Capital of Culture Tartu 2024 main program. |
