En su cuarta participación en Reveil, Radio Granizo transmite desde Quebrada Honda, en Granizo, Olmué, una quebrada que recoge las aguas que descienden desde el Cerro La Campana. La señal se emplaza en el límite entre la zona habitada y el parque nacional, un umbral donde lo humano y lo silvestre se encuentran, se tensionan y se escuchan.

Este territorio forma parte del bosque esclerófilo, un ecosistema endémico de Chile central donde conviven diversas formas de vida: flora, fauna, funga y mineralia. En los últimos años, el aumento de población y la presión sobre el entorno han provocado erosión del suelo y una reducción del hábitat disponible para especies nativas, evidenciando un ecosistema en transformación.

El compromiso de Radio Granizo con Reveil se sostiene en la relación entre ecología y tecnologías de comunicación, entendiendo la radio como una práctica situada de escucha y transmisión. A lo largo de sus participaciones, la radio ha experimentado con soluciones técnicas de bajo impacto, micrófonos móviles, transmisión con recursos mínimos, desplazamientos a pie, buscando transportar la belleza del entorno y dar cuenta de sus tensiones y fragilidades.

La transmisión propone una escucha atenta del territorio. Al amanecer, los micrófonos capturan aves, insectos, flujos de agua y resonancias lejanas de la ciudad de Limache, junto a las rutinas de la vida rural. Pero también se abren a los silencios, las interrupciones y las anomalías que revelan momentos de crisis ambiental. En este cruce, el paisaje sonoro se vuelve indicador y la salud del ecosistema se manifiesta a través del sonido y de las condiciones mismas de la transmisión radial.

Más que representar un lugar, Radio Granizo busca sintonizar con él, entendiendo la radio como un medio para pensar y sentir ecológicamente.

In its fourth participation in Reveil, Radio Granizo broadcasts from Quebrada Honda, in Granizo, Olmué  a ravine where waters descend from Cerro La Campana. The stream is situated at the boundary between the inhabited area and the national park: a threshold where the human and the wild meet, intersect, and become audible.

This site is part of the Chilean sclerophyllous forest, an endemic ecosystem of central Chile that hosts a diversity of life forms: flora, fauna, fungi, and mineral matter. In recent years, population growth and environmental pressure have led to soil erosion and a reduction of available habitat for native species, revealing an ecosystem in transformation.

Radio Granizo’s commitment to Reveil is grounded in the relationship between ecology and communication technologies, approaching radio as a situated practice of listening and transmission. Throughout its participations, the station has developed low-impact technical strategies, mobile microphones, minimal transmission setups, walking-based broadcasts, aiming not only to convey the beauty of the environment, but also to engage critically with its tensions and vulnerabilities.

The broadcast invites a careful listening of the territory: at dawn, microphones capture birds, insects, water flows, and the distant presence of the city of Limache, alongside the rhythms of rural life. It also embraces silence, disruption, and anomaly as signals of environmental stress. In this sense, the soundscape becomes an indicator: the health of the ecosystem is expressed through sound, and through the very conditions of radio transmission.

Rather than representing a place, Radio Granizo seeks to tune into it  understanding radio as a medium to think, and feel, ecologically.
