Kestle Barton is an ancient Cornish farmstead situated above the Helford River. Following an award-winning conservation and conversion project the beautiful old farm buildings have new uses, one of the barns becoming an elegant gallery that opened in 2010. In the gallery, garden and wild flower meadow beyond, we have a programme of three free exhibitions and a number of other events open to visitors each year, from early Spring to late October.
Stream is run on a Raspberry Pi placed in a geodesic frame in a wildflower meadow overlooking a line of mature English Elm Trees in Kestle Barton's stunning 56 acres of farmland. |
An evening of activity centred around live streaming the dawn chorus via Resonance FM in London as the world wakes up on International Dawn Chorus Day. Hundreds of globally dispersed live microphones, including one at Kestle Barton and one at Falmouth’s Woodlane Campus will be blended together to broadcast a 24-hour long stream of the dawn chorus in real time as the world turns.
The studio at Kestle will host a permanent live feed of the stream via Resonance, a reading room, and a listening station where audience can choose which livestream to listen to in the space and document these moments on the wall. This year workshops will include by Moogie Wonderland and artist Stuart Robinson, alongside a special live performance in the orchard from The Worm - as featured on BBC 6Musics The Freak Zone and Boomkat.com Best of 2025. The event is hosted by Dr. Bram Thomas Arnold of Falmouth University's Fine Art department. |
