My balcony is my studio — a place where I listen, test, and work with sound in everyday conditions.
My balcony is my studio — a place where I listen, test, and work with sound in everyday conditions.
The balcony is where I work. I set up microphones here, test my responsive sound-systems, and spend time listening. Over time, it has become my studio in a very direct sense: a place that gives me space for attention, philosophical and conceptual thinking.
For this stream, I do not intervene. I transmit what is there: birds and wind, distant traffic, traces of the harbor carried through the air, and the intermittent presence of aircraft from the nearby Airbus site. The soundscape unfolds on its own, without composition or control.
What is usually my working condition becomes the work itself.
Equipment: Audio-Technica AT4022 (omnidirectional microphone) with Rycote Super-Softie, Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 3rd Gen.
