Tucked away in the south North Island bush, we (Clay & co) look out and over the harbour of Te Whanganui-A-Tara, Wellington to Matiu / Somes Island, finding each other (Kate Genevieve & co) through Meshtastic devices, letting the restoring birdlife lead us into the day.
Using the Meshtastic interface for P2P communication, from the treehouse up on the hill, we listen to what is coming; and consider a proposal to implement community-owned/-maintained infrastructure on the island before next year's Reveil event.
This infrastructure would strengthen the communication viability of the region (which currently extends across the Cook Strait, between the two major islands of Aotearoa), supplying two-way communication in emergency situations (as well as in slow-burn privacy emergencies of the social media & big data age).
